Firstly, the Committee of Aspire Gymnastics Club would like to say thank you to everyone who either attended our online Extraordinary General Meeting on the 6th March 2023 at 6:00pm or cast their vote beforehand via a proxy vote.
The Extraordinary General Meeting was held to enable all our members to vote on the motion to transfer all the assets and business of Aspire Gymnastics Club to Hull Gymnastics Club Limited (Company number: 08810226) for a variety of reasons summarised below:
- Being a company limited by guarantee gives the company a separate legal identity.
- It will give our members and directors limited liability for the debts and liabilities of the company.
- It will give us a stronger negotiating position in our application for a new lease for our premises, which expires in Autumn of this year.
- It will give greater transparency, as details of the company and the accounts will be required to be filed with Companies House.
- It will also give greater credibility and professionalism to the organisation as companies limited by guarantee benefit from a strong framework of law.
- was voted on and passed.

- Simon Mearns
- Beverley Smith
We can confirm that the motion was voted on and passed and will now put this into action and go ahead with this transfer.
